Hipólito Yrigoyen

Biography

Hipólito Yrigoyen (1852-1933) was Argentina's first democratically elected president. He served two non-consecutive terms (1916-1922 and 1928-1930). He wasn't able to finish his second presidency as he was overthrown by a military coup, which was the first of many during Argentina's 20th century.
