Biography

Tang Huaiqiu was a Chinese drama activist, actor, and director from Hunan. After studying aviation mechanics in France, he returned to China in 1925 and became involved in the drama scene. He founded the China Traveling Drama Troupe in 1933, which performed classic plays and helped raise the standards of Chinese theater. Later, he directed at the Chinese Opera Research Institute after the People's Republic of China was established. He died in 1954 due to illness.
