Biography

Ikranagara (September 19, 1943 – March 6, 2023) was an Indonesian actor, painter, and writer. Known to the public for both his comedic and dramatic roles, he was one of the most respected and prominent film stars of his time. His most famous and acclaimed performances include his collaboration with Ully Artha in the romantic comedy-drama Kejarlah Daku... Kau Kutangkap (1986) and Keluarga Markum (1986)—a sequel to the successful Kejarlah Daku... Kau Kutangkap.

Throughout a career spanning more than five decades, he was nominated twice for the Citra Award at the Indonesian Film Festival: once for Best Supporting Actor for his role as an annoying uncle in the romantic comedy-drama Kejarlah Daku... Kau Kutangkap (1986) and once for Best Actor for portraying Nahdlatul Ulama founder Hasyim Asy'ari in the biographical film Sang Kiai (2013).
