A Lebanese producer and actress, born in Tannourine in 1901. She moved to Egypt in 1923 with her niece, Mary Queeny. In 1927, Assia established her own production company, Lotus Film, which became one of the pioneering production companies in the history of Egyptian cinema. Assia produced her first film in 1929, Belle of Desert, in which she also co-starred.
