Biography

Aleksandr Ustyugov is a Russian actor, theater and film director, and musician. He was born on October 17, 1976, in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan.

After finishing school, he studied to become a locksmith-electrician and worked at the "Vostochny" coal mine. Later, he began studying railway engineering. He started working as a lighting technician at the Omsk Youth Theater, and then went on to study at the Omsk College of Culture and Arts.

In 1999, he was accepted into the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute. There, he directed the graduation play "And the Dawn is Quiet Here..." with his classmates. He also directed the play "These Free Butterflies" there.

From 2003 to 2014, he worked at the Russian Academic Youth Theatre.

His film debut took place in 2000 when he appeared in the TV series "Marsh Turketskogo". Ustyugov gained wide recognition after his role in the crime series "Mentsovskie Vojny" ("Cop Wars"), where he played Roman Shilov, the head of the homicide department of the St. Petersburg police.

In 2015, Alexander created the music group "Ekibastuz". Besides acting and music, he is passionate about sports, photography, motocross, and collects old keys, antique furniture, and weapons.
