Biography

Vasilis Kailas (Greek: Βασίλης Καΐλας, Piraeus, May 1, 1953) is a Greek actor.

He started his career alongside Elli Lampeti, in the movie The Last Lie, when he was 4 years old. Very soon he established himself in characteristic supporting roles (and leading roles in Maria Plyta's films such as O lustrakos, O emborakos).

Later he switched to the theater. In 1985 he was the star of the film You got a degree. He participated in a total of 117 films, not only Greek but also foreign. He went down in history as the child prodigy of Greek cinema. His first experience in dubbing began while working with Yiannis Kalatzopoulos and George Nezos. Later he did dubbing for ERT series and films directed by Spyros Milionis and Giorgos Protopapas. He rose to prominence in dubbing acting as John Boy Walton from The Waltons.
